Italian regional authorities are implementing various vocational training and orientation programs to strengthen the connection between education and the labor market. In Belluno and Brescia, initiatives such as the ‘Preparàti al futuro: ponti tra scuola e impresa’ project and the ‘Futuriamoci’ program have been established. These efforts focus on providing high school students with personal coaching, workshops, and guidance to assist in navigating professional choices and encouraging local community investment. In the Veneto region, training efforts have expanded into specialized technical sectors. The ITS Academy Agroalimentare Veneto is offering courses in sustainable agritech and precision viticulture, while new programs in Treviso are targeting the tourism industry through specialized training in food and wine tourism and territorial communication. Recent data for the 2025-2026 academic year indicates a significant expansion of the ITS Academy system in Veneto, which now includes 101 new two-year courses with total enrollment exceeding 4,400 students. This growth is supported by over 15.7 million euros in funding from the PR Veneto FSE+ and the Higher Technological Education Fund. This educational expansion coincides with a positive employment balance in the Veneto region. During the second quarter of 2026, the region reported a net gain of 51,800 positions, largely driven by the tourism sector, which contributed 72,100 positions. The province of Venice led this growth with over 30,000 new positions, followed by Verona with 15,800. Other sectors, including agriculture and industry, also showed positive trends.
