Various regional wine festivals and educational masterclasses have been scheduled across Italy for late 2026 to promote local viticulture and heritage. In Rome, the Gambero Rosso Academy is hosting a masterclass focused on Sicilian wines from Feudo Stagnone, featuring tastings and culinary pairings. Additionally, the Consorzio Barbera d’Asti e Vini del Monferrato has announced the third Barbera d’Asti Wine Festival, which is set to begin October 18 in Milan. Other scheduled events include the Baratili Wine Fest on October 10 in Baratili San Pietro, which highlights the historical Vernaccia di Oristano grape. Following this, the twelfth Eroico Rosso – Sforzato Wine Festival will take place from October 31 to November 1 in Tirano, focusing on the Sforzato di Valtellina DOCG and the region’s UNESCO-recognized mountain viticulture. New educational and industry initiatives have also been announced. The Associazione Italiana Sommelier (AIS) Lazio has opened registrations for professional qualification courses in the Rieti area, with sessions beginning October 21 at Ristorante La Foresta and October 29 at Ristorante Da Tonino in Albaneto. In Sardinia, the town of Siamaggiore will host the inaugural ‘Radici di Vino’ event on October 3, featuring twelve local wineries at the Pardu Nou grove. In Piedmont, the 2026 Old Vine Conference (OVC), titled ‘Radici Vive’, is scheduled for December 2 at the Fontanafredda estate in Serralunga d’Alba. Led by Tamlyn Currin, the conference will explore the role of old vines, complemented by winery visits from December 1 to 4.
