Funding has been allocated for fire safety and structural improvements across various educational institutions in Italy. In the Barletta-Andria-Trani province, Provincial President Bernardo Lodispoto announced funding for fire safety compliance at the ‘Sergio Cosmai’ institute in Bisceglie, the ‘Aldo Moro’ institute in Margherita di Savoia, and the ‘Dell’Aquila-Staffa’ institute in San Ferdinando di Puglia. Lodispoto noted these resources are essential for protecting students and staff. In Brindisi, Mayor Giuseppe Marchionna announced that the city secured €1,648,360 through the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR). This investment is designated for fire prevention and general structural safety upgrades across ten buildings, including the Giulio Cesare middle school, Collodi primary school, and Leonardo da Vinci middle school. Recent developments show expanded deployment of funds for fire prevention, seismic retrofitting, and maintenance across several regions. The Province of Vibo Valentia secured 1.36 million euros for seven institutes in areas including Serra San Bruno, Nicotera, Tropea, and Vibo Valentia. In the Metropolitan City of Messina, 1.2 million euros are being utilized for four schools, such as the Guttuso institute in Milazzo, to address structural issues like crumbling plaster and deteriorating facades. The Metropolitan City of Naples approved over 1.65 million euros for high schools, prioritizing seismic adaptation and urgent repairs for the Gentileschi institute. Additionally, in Soliera, the Muratori nursery school has reopened following a 3.9 million euro renovation funded by the PNRR and local resources, which included seismic upgrades and new climate control systems. In Pietrasanta, a 3 million euro budget variation is being implemented to fund school supplies and urban maintenance. Recent initiatives have also expanded to include social and merit-based support. In the Basilicata region, 1.2 million euros are being distributed in scholarships to 1,228 students through the ‘Valore del Sapere’ initiative.
