Italian sports clubs preseason preparations

Early reports focused on regional and lower-division developments, such as Virtus Ragusa’s debut in the Serie B Interregional basketball league, SPAL’s placement in Eccellenza Girone A, and preseason preparations for football side Saviglianese. Other regional updates included Tamburello Serie A semifinal matchups.

As the preseason progressed, activity expanded to include major professional clubs and significant transfer market movements. In Serie A, Juventus has been managing roster additions under financial constraints, while Atalanta completed several player arrivals. In Serie B, Ascoli has engaged in negotiations for new talent. Additionally, rugby clubs in Piedmont and volleyball teams like Sir Safety Perugia and Gas Sales Piacenza have initiated their respective training and development programs.

In the final stages of the 2026 summer transfer market, Juventus is working to balance new investments with player departures to comply with a settlement agreement with UEFA.
