Local authorities in Italy are initiating implementing several infrastructure projects aimed at mitigating hydraulic risks and preventing flooding. In Spinetta Marengo, the municipal council has approved an a final urban planning variant to start begin the second phase of hydraulic regulation for the Rio Lovassina. This includes building a new lamination basin upstream of the Litta Parodi district in Frugarolo to contain water flow during heavy rainfall. In Calice Ligure, 750,000 euros have been allocated approved for hydraulic risk mitigation near Piazza IV Novembre. The project involves improving water flow through an early 20th-century underground tunnel by removing obstacles, reinforcing banks with concrete-bound boulders, and repairing slopes that were damaged during severe weather in May 2025. Additionally, a new helipad will be constructed in the Campogrande area to replace an existing site that is currently unusable due to its proximity to wind turbines.
