On the night of October 11 to the morning of October 12, 2026, a fatal shooting occurred at L’Atelier, a shisha bar and restaurant in Ivry-sur-Seine, Val-de-Marne. Initial reports described a woman in a wig opening fire with a pistol, fatally wounding the owner. A second assailant subsequently entered the premises with a submachine gun, seriously wounding an employee. The suspects fled in a utility vehicle that was later found burned nearby. By October 14, the Paris prosecutor’s office confirmed that both the bar manager and the wounded employee had died. While a security guard sustained a minor hand injury, the specialized interregional jurisdiction (JIRS) of Paris has taken over the investigation. On October 16, authorities announced that ~~two~~ three suspects had been ~~charged and detained, including~~ placed in custody. This includes a 32-year-old ~~woman from Marseille with a prior criminal record for cigarette trafficking,~~ woman, identified as Zohra A., suspected of acting as a ~~hitwoman. Investigators also identified a~~ contract killer, and another alleged shooter. A third man is suspected of serving as a the driver. Investigators are pursuing charges of murder and attempted murder in the context of an organized gang. Additionally, a fourth woman was placed under judicial control for allegedly assisting a criminal in evading arrest. During the investigation, a Kalashnikov-type weapon was recovered from the passenger side of the stolen vehicle that had been set on fire near the scene.
