Jadon Sancho, a 26-year-old free agent and former Manchester United winger, continues to seek a new club following his departure from United and a loan spell at Aston Villa. While previously linked to the Arabian Falcons in the UAE, as well as interests in Turkey, Italy, and Brazil, his options have faced several setbacks. Borussia Dortmund has officially declined the opportunity to re-sign the winger. Despite Sancho’s popularity at the club, the board dismissed a return as ‘out of the question’, citing concerns over his consistency, lack of match fitness, and high wage demands of approximately €6 million per year. Sporting director Ole Boeck reportedly made the final decision against a free transfer, concluding that Sancho could not currently assist the team. This follows previous indications from Lars Ricken and coach Niko Kovac that the squad was sufficiently positioned without him. Recent reports confirm that club leadership, including Lars Ricken and Hans-Joachim Watzke, remains firm in their decision against pursuing the winger, citing that the risks outweigh the benefits due to inconsistent performances and professional doubts. Sancho, who recorded 53 goals and 67 assists in 158 matches for Dortmund, is currently training privately to maintain fitness. If a suitable sporting or financial offer does not materialize by the end of the year, he is reportedly prepared to wait until the January winter transfer window to secure a new club. Sancho’s search has also extended to the Russian Premier League, though FK Krasnodar declined to enter formal negotiations. His status remains complicated by concerns regarding his recent form, wage expectations, and past disciplinary issues. In an effort to maintain fitness, Sancho has begun training at the facilities of Flixton FC, a club in the tenth tier of English football located near Manchester United’s Carrington training center.
