Former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro, who is serving a sentence of 27 years and three months for his role in a coup attempt, is currently under humanitarian house arrest following shoulder surgery and recent bouts of bacterial pneumonia. Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes has authorized Bolsonaro to temporarily leave his residence for a dental appointment. To maintain security, Moraes mandated that the specific date date, time, and time location of the procedure remain strictly confidential, warning that any leaks regarding the schedule will result in the immediate cancellation of the authorization. Logistics must be coordinated between Bolsonaro’s legal team and Lieutenant Colonel Allenson Nascimento Lopes, the Deputy Director of the PMDF Custody Nucleus. While the defense requested that the procedure be performed by his daughter-in-law, dentist Fernanda Antunes Figueira Bolsonaro, the court denied this request. Instead, the court suggested ruled that the appointment should occur at the Medical Center of the Military Police of the Federal District (PMDF) under escort. Bolsonaro also remains under specific restrictions regarding visitors following a previous incident involving his son, Senator Flávio Bolsonaro.
