Jakarta municipal bond planning
Entities: Pramono Anung · Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa · DKI Jakarta Provincial Government · Tito Karnavian · Rp3.5 trillion municipal bond
Overview
In July 2026 Jakarta's provincial government announced its intention to issue a Rp3.5 trillion municipal bond, targeting a June 2027 issuance with a seven‑year tenor. The bond is slated to fund infrastructure such as the Manggarai‑Dukuh Atas LRT line, hospitals, schools, flood‑control works and housing, and has been approved in principle by the Ministry of Coordinating Economic Affairs.
A week later, Home Affairs Minister Tito Karnavian cautioned that the borrowing must be examined to ensure the regional budget can service the debt without burdening the incoming governor. Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa, who had not yet received detailed information from Jakarta’s governor, said he would meet to assess the proposal’s credibility and financial soundness before any issuance proceeds.
