The Jakarta Pusat Metro Police issued a clarification regarding a complaint filed against Police Chief Kombes Pol Reynold E. P. Hutagalung concerning the termination of a theft investigation. Criminal Investigation Unit Head Kompol Sang Ngurah Wiratama Satria Pathy explained that the investigation was discontinued because the complainant, identified as B, had reportedly received a refund exceeding the original stolen amount prior to filing the report. Specifically, authorities noted that the refund exceeded the stolen amount by more than Rp25 million. The police stated the situation shifted into a new criminal matter when B allegedly used the theft report to attempt extortion and intimidation against the suspect, V.
