In mid‑July 2026, police investigated a locked room at the Pondok Pinang private‑school foundation in South Jakarta’s Kebayoran Lama district. The raid uncovered 995 air‑soft weapons—including 776 revolvers, 215 pistols, and several rifles—alongside a single firearm, cannabis, methamphetamine, and pornographic VCDs. Supplier PT Lokta Karya Perbakin stated the air‑soft items were licensed spare parts intended for an extracurricular shooting programme that ceased after the death of Jenderal Suryo in 2024, though the school’s legal counsel denied such a club ever existed. An internal dispute over foundation control, beginning in April 2026, had limited access to the storage area. Following a second entry on 7 August, police recovered three additional air‑soft guns, including a Franchi SPAS-15 linked to a deceased director of PT Lokta Karya Perbakin, identified as “DS.” On 8 August, investigators focused on why the shotgun remained on the school premises after DS passed away in 2020. In response to the discovery, the Harapan Ibu Pondok Pinang Foundation has implemented a week of full distance learning to ensure student safety and psychological well-being. The foundation is seeking guidance from the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education and the Indonesian Child Protection Commission (KPAI). While the foundation maintains that the discovery is a legal matter rather than a result of the ongoing leadership dispute regarding former chairperson IWD, authorities continue to examine the origins of the weapons and narcotics. On 10 August, forensic experts from the Indonesian National Police (Puslabfor Polri) conducted a follow-up investigation at the foundation. Focusing on the former chairman’s office, the secretary’s office, and the facilities and infrastructure room, authorities seized 30 additional items, including airsoft guns, ammunition, magazines, and various spare parts. Officials noted these airsoft guns were in a “damaged or incomplete condition.”
