Legia Warszawa moved to secure Czech striker Jan Kuchta from Sparta Prague. Initial reports indicated the club was nearing a deal for the 29-year-old forward, who was expected to undergo medical examinations following interest from coach Marek Papszun. On August 10, the transfer was finalized as a one-year loan deal. The agreement includes an option for a permanent transfer at the conclusion of the 2026/27 season. Legia’s sporting director, Fredi Bobic, stated that Kuchta’s scoring record and ability to draw defensive attention would serve as valuable assets for the squad. Kuchta, a three-time Czech league champion with 31 caps for the Czech national team, will reunite in Warsaw with fellow Czech midfielder Michal Sevcik, who is also on loan at the club. Manager Marek Papszun reportedly pursued the striker to bolster his high-intensity tactical system, seeking a player capable of contributing to both attacking duties and defensive pressure. On August 12, reports confirmed the move is intended to support Legia’s pursuit of the Ekstraklasa title.
