After securing an ‘A’ certificate and opening on 23 July 2026, Jana Nayagan posted a net ₹24.67 crore and gross ₹29.11 crore on day 1, crossing ₹100 crore worldwide by day 2 and ₹200 crore by day 4. By the sixth day the film had earned roughly ₹143.4 crore net in India and an overseas gross of about ₹78.5 crore, taking the worldwide total past the ₹250 crore mark. The momentum continued, reaching about ₹260 crore by day 8 and surpassing ₹300 crore in twelve days, despite a dip on day 8 linked to the ‘A’ rating. On day 15 the domestic net fell to ₹1.6 crore, bringing the Indian net to approximately ₹185.15 crore and the domestic gross to ₹215.87 crore. Worldwide earnings stood at roughly ₹308.67 crore, with overseas receipts near ₹92.8 crore. The slowdown is attributed to new competition from the Hollywood release *Spider-Man: Brand New Day* and the upcoming Tamil political drama *Vishwanath & Sons* slated for mid-August. By its 18th day, the film became the highest-grossing Kollywood film of the year, surpassing the totals of *Karuppu*. At that stage, the worldwide gross reached approximately ₹314.00 crore, comprising ₹221.00 crore in India and ₹93.00 crore from overseas. Despite earlier fluctuations, the film saw a significant 87.6% surge in collections on its third Sunday, driven by family audiences. Entering its third week, daily collections began to stabilize; on its 19th day, the movie earned approximately ₹39 lakh, bringing the India net collection to ₹192.69 crore and the India gross to roughly ₹224.49 crore. The Tamil version remains the primary revenue driver. Following its theatrical run, the film is scheduled to premiere on the streaming platform ZEE5 on August 21, 2026. Recent reports indicate the film has reached approximately ₹227.14 crore in India and ₹320.34 crore worldwide.
