Japanese celebrity childbirth announcements
Overview
In October 2026, several high-profile Japanese entertainers announced the birth of their first children.
On October 13, actors Yui Aragaki and Gen Hoshino released a joint statement via their official websites. The announcement included a website domain meaning ‘softly/quietly a message’, which was noted for its modesty. While speculation had previously circulated regarding Aragaki’s potential retirement due to a reduction in roles, industry insiders indicated she does not intend to leave the entertainment industry.
On October 26, former AKB48 member Yui Yokoyama and singer Shota Gogami announced the birth of a daughter. Yokoyama’s agency, Ohta Production, confirmed that both mother and child are healthy and stated that her future work schedule would be managed with consideration for her physical condition.
