Simultaneously, the 20th Kids Design Award ceremony in Tokyo recognized 35 works, including the Prime Minister’s Award for the ‘Akachan Sensei Project’ and legacy awards for companies with significant contributions to the field. By mid-October, the 2026 Good Design Awards, organized by the Japan Institute of Design Promotion, recognized several architectural and urban development projects. Notable recipients included Daiwa House Group for residential projects in Nagoya and Kyoto that utilize traditional and local materials, as well as Rui Design Office for its Tokyo headquarters. Further details highlighted the ‘Premist Shirakabe’ and ‘Premist Kyoto Matsugasaki’ condominiums, alongside the STATION Ai innovation hub.
