Jensen International Automotive has unveiled the Interceptor GTX, a track-focused supercar that marks the revival of the classic British marque. This new model represents a transition for the company from producing restomods to developing entirely new vehicles from the ground up. The GTX features a hand-built aluminum spaceframe ~~chassis~~ chassis, developed in collaboration with Avant Design, and carbon fiber body ~~panels, incorporating~~ panels handcrafted by Coventry Metalcraft. The vehicle incorporates advanced ~~aerodynamics such as~~ aerodynamics, including a large front splitter and a structural carbon-fiber rear ~~spoiler~~ wing capable of generating 350 kg of downforce. ~~The vehicle is equipped with racing-grade hardware, including Nitron adjustable dampers, AP Racing brakes, and a Wavetrac differential.~~ Power is provided by a heavily modified 6.8-liter supercharged V8 engine developed by Texas-based Late Model Engines. While based on a General Motors LT2 architecture, the engine retains less than 20 percent of its original components and utilizes CNC-machined heads and titanium valves. It is capable of producing between 960 and 1,217 horsepower. Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a six-speed Samsonas Motorsport sequential transaxle and a carbon-fiber driveshaft. ~~The Interceptor~~ Marking 60 years since the original grand tourer debuted, the GTX is intended to serve as a development platform for future models, including the luxury-focused GT and the performance-oriented GTR.
