Jindřichohradec narrow-gauge railway operations
Overview
The Jindřichohradec narrow-gauge railway operator, Gepard Infra, has secured a five-year safety certificate from the Railway Authority, confirming compliance with Czech and European safety management legislation. To address infrastructure needs, the company obtained 17 million CZK from the State Fund for Transport Infrastructure (SFDI) for critical repairs, including track overhauls and sleeper replacements. These measures aim to address safety concerns that had previously reduced train speeds to 20 km/h on certain sections of the 79-kilometer network.
As the season progresses, the railway has announced its autumn schedule. Motor train services will run daily until October 4, transitioning to a weekend-only schedule through mid-November. Steam train services will continue on the line to Nová Bystřice, including special events such as a double steam journey on September 26. Additionally, a new website has been launched to provide passengers with real-time tracking and delay information.
