JinkoSolar technological and operational developments strategic evolution
JinkoSolar has expanded its product offerings and operational milestones through the deployment of its Tiger Neo 3.0 technology. In early August, the company launched the “Sunny 365” integrated photovoltaic-storage system, designed specifically for retail and supermarket operators to manage peak demand and electricity costs. By late August, JinkoSolar reported reaching a milestone of over 400 GW in cumulative solar module deliveries as of the first quarter of 2026. The company has secured several new contracts using its Tiger Neo 3.0 series, including a 300 MW module supply for a solar plant in Tajikistan and a 100 MW hybrid PV project in Hainan, China. However, the company is navigating significant profitability challenges driven by industry-wide overcapacity, weakening demand, and intense pricing pressure. In its second-quarter 2026 report, JinkoSolar recorded revenue of approximately RMB 12.36 billion, a decrease of roughly 31.3% compared to the previous year. While module shipments saw a sequential recovery of 16.7%, year-on-year shipments fell by 34.4%. The company also underwent a leadership change, with Wei ‘Dimi’ Du succeeding Xiande Li as CEO, a transition that coincided with a nearly 12 percent drop in the company’s shares. In response to these headwinds, JinkoSolar is restructuring its strategy to prioritize “product value, profitability, and cash flow” over shipment scale. This includes lowering its full-year module shipment guidance to between 60 and 70 GW and betting on next-generation Tiger Neo 5.0 modules, which have achieved mass-produced efficiency of up to 25.91%. Additionally, JinkoSolar completed the sale of a 75.1% stake in Jinko Solar (U.S.) Industries to FH Capital, while retaining a 24.9% minority interest. In September 2026, JinkoSolar Holding Co., Ltd. proposed changing its English name to Jinko Holdings Limited. This change, pending shareholder approval on October 21, 2026, is intended to reflect its evolution into a strategic investment entity.
