In mid-August 2026, João Pessoa expanded its social, educational, and urban infrastructure initiatives. Part of the ‘Ancestrality, Ecology, and the Sea’ interdisciplinary program, the project connects academic subjects with the cultural experiences of the local quilombola community in Penha. Simultaneously, the Municipal Education Network expanded the use of assistive technology to support students with visual impairments. At Escola Municipal General Rodrigo Otávio, tools such as smart glasses, Braille printers, and screen readers are being integrated to foster student autonomy.
