Joshua Buatsi and Willy Hutchinson boxing rematch

Professional boxing matches scheduled for November include a high stakes rematch between Joshua Buatsi and Willy Hutchinson at the AO Arena in Manchester, England. The bout is for the vacant WBC light-heavyweight title.

Buatsi previously defeated Hutchinson via split decision in September 2024, a fight in which Buatsi scored two knockdowns. Entering the rematch, Buatsi holds a professional record of 20 wins and one defeat, while Hutchinson holds a record of 20 wins and two defeats.

In the rematch, Willy Hutchinson claimed the vacant WBC light heavyweight title by defeating Joshua Buatsi via unanimous decision. The Scottish boxer avenged his September 2024 defeat with judges' scores of 117-112, 115-113, and 115-113. Hutchinson controlled the early rounds using lateral movement, a sharp lead hand, and counter-punching. Although Buatsi mounted a rally in the later rounds through aggressive body punching and increased pressure, he could not overcome the early deficit.

The title became vacant after American David Benavidez relinquished the WBC belt to move to the cruiserweight division. Following his victory, Hutchinson expressed interest in a future title defense against Anthony Yarde.
