Santos FC entered negotiations to sell 20-year-old right-back JP Chermont to Sharjah FC in the United Arab Emirates for approximately R$ 18 million ($3.45 million to $3.5 million). The deal was intended to provide financial relief for Santos to manage its payroll and accounts. Under the terms, Coritiba, where Chermont was on loan, was entitled to a 10% showcase fee. The payment arrived after several weeks of delay; Sharjah FC had previously requested more time due to cash flow issues and asked Santos not to escalate the matter to FIFA. While the influx of capital provides relief for settling overdue image rights, Santos remains under financial pressure, including four FIFA blocks related to debts exceeding R$ 15 million owed to former coach Pedro Caixinha.
