JPMorgan Chase is pursuing international expansion and growth across various markets. In Switzerland, the bank is targeting the mid-market sector, specifically companies with annual revenues of approximately 500 million francs, to capitalize on opportunities created by the consolidation of the Swiss banking sector. In India, CEO Jamie Dimon has projected that the nation’s economy could nearly triple in size over the next decade. To support this growth, the bank plans to expand its research and coverage capabilities in the region. Dimon also noted the significant growth of the bank’s Indian workforce and called for finalized trade agreements between India and the United States to ensure consistent investment rules. At the JPMorgan India Investor Conference in Mumbai, Dimon urged the United States to reconsider imposing punitive tariffs on countries purchasing Russian crude oil following the signing of the Lindsey O. Graham Sanctioning Russia and Iran Act of 2026. He warned that such measures, which could authorize tariffs of up to 100%, might end up “punishing India and the world oil markets” by failing to account for the technical requirements of Indian refineries. To support India's expansion, JPMorgan is increasing its footprint with plans to expand research coverage to approximately 2,000 Indian companies while maintaining a workforce of roughly 60,000 professionals in the country. Dimon also noted that global AI investments could reach $1 trillion next year due to infrastructure and data center spending.
