To mark the 50th anniversary of Judge Dredd and the comic magazine 2000AD, Rebellion has announced several publication projects and expansion plans scheduled for 2027. First, the publisher introduced ‘Judge Dredd: Compact Crimes’, a series of 224-page black-and-white volumes. These manga-sized books are designed to sit alongside popular manga titles on retail shelves to attract new readers. Monthly installments are planned to begin in January 2027. Specifically, ‘Compact Crimes Volume Three’, titled ‘The Day The Law Died!’, is scheduled for release on March 23, collecting adventures from 2000 AD Progs 86 to 110 with work from creators such as John Wagner, Pat Mills, and Brian Bolland. Additionally, an oversized omnibus titled ‘Fifty Years of Judge Dredd – A 50th Anniversary Celebration!’ is scheduled for release on February 11, 2027. This collection will feature forty selected complete stories spanning the character’s history from 1977 to the present, covering various genres including sci-fi satire, war, adventure, and horror. The volume will include work from creators such as John Wagner, Carlos Ezquerra, Brian Bolland, Cam Kennedy, and Duncan Fegredo, as well as interviews with prominent comic creators. The omnibus will be available in standard hardback or webshop-exclusive numbered slipcase editions. Furthermore, the ‘Essential Judge Dredd’ line is set to return in March 2027. One upcoming volume, ‘Titan’, will feature stories such as ‘Titan’, ‘Fit’, and ‘Enceladus’, with work by Rob Williams and Henry Flint. Beyond these specific publications, Rebellion is planning an extensive campaign to expand collaborations and licensing. This initiative aims to include new products and collectibles to bring the character back to the forefront of popular culture. Leading up to the 2027 anniversary, Rebellion has announced ‘The Day of Dredd’, an international celebration scheduled for Saturday, 3 October 2026.
