Peru is advancing judicial modernization through international cooperation and technological integration. Initially, the Peruvian Judiciary sought to establish cooperation initiatives with Bolivia and Honduras. These efforts aimed Honduras to sign memorandums of understanding focused on exchanging exchange jurisdictional experiences, jurisprudence, and training programs, with a specific emphasis on digital transformation and the use of artificial intelligence. Following these coordination efforts, the Peruvian Supreme Court introduced ‘CURIA’, an artificial intelligence tool designed to assist judges and legal operators by searching a database of over 800,000 resolutions. Supreme Judge Ulises Yaya Zumaeta noted that the tool is intended to support, rather than replace, judicial discretion and responsibility.
