Julius Baer has implemented several leadership changes within its Middle East and Africa (MEA) division. In late September 2026, the firm appointed Roy Zaatar as Managing Director Senior Advisor and Group Head for the MEA region. Based in Dubai, Zaatar joined the leadership team to oversee relationship managers and support regional expansion in wealth management. Zaatar joined the firm from Barclays, where he spent 11 years, bringing experience from the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC). By mid-October 2026, the bank announced a broader leadership realignment. Jean Pierre Dib and Philipp Kleinschnittger were named Co-Heads for the region, reporting to Rahul Malhotra, the Head of Region Emerging Markets. This new structure oversees operations in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Manama, and Johannesburg, as well as offshore coverage from Zurich, Geneva, and London. As part of this transition, Régis Burger moved from his position as Head of Middle East & Africa into a newly created role as Chief Operating Officer for the Region Emerging Markets, while retaining his role as CEO and Senior Executive Officer of Julius Baer (Middle East) Ltd.
