The K-beauty industry is seeing significant expansion through both international retail partnerships and the rise of specialized derma cosmetics. The Pasadena location has reported over 1,000 daily customers and utilizes ‘Skin Scan’ technology to provide personalized recommendations to Gen Z consumers. The company aims to expand to five California locations by the first half of next year, broadening its curation to include wellness and inner beauty items. Simultaneously, the K-beauty sector is experiencing a shift as derma cosmetics move from specialized pharmaceutical use into mainstream retail. CJ Olive Young has implemented ‘Advanced Derma’ sections in approximately 650 stores, seeing a 48% sales increase in June following the category's April launch. Major players like Amorepacific and LG Household & Health Care are also scaling their derma portfolios for mass-market availability globally.
