KAA Gent coach Rik De Mil has managed several player injuries throughout October 2026. Initially, the club expressed frustration after striker Josué Vergara suffered an injury while on international duty with Panama, despite the club reportedly advising the Panamanian football association against his participation. At that time, the club was also managing Bashir Ngom’s recovery from cruciate ligament surgery. By late October, Vergara had begun individual training, though he was not yet fully recovered.
