Kano Pillars have been active in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) during recent matchdays. In a matchday seven fixture at the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kano Pillars played to a 1-1 draw against Sporting Lagos. Valentine Ugwu scored for Sporting Lagos in first-half stoppage time, while Abdullahi Musa equalized for Kano Pillars in the 48th minute. Following this, Kano Pillars were scheduled to play a rescheduled Matchday 3 fixture against Shooting Stars SC (3SC) at the Lekan Salami Stadium in Ibadan. Entering that match, Kano Pillars held an unbeaten streak of six games and sought to secure their first away point against 3SC since June 2017. At the time of the fixture, Pillars held between 10 and 11 points and were positioned in the upper half of the table, while 3SC sat near the bottom of the standings with seven points. However, Kano Pillars’ momentum was interrupted by a heavy defeat against Plateau United at the New Jos Stadium. Plateau United secured a 4-0 victory, with goals from Paul Samson in the third minute, Ekundayo Ojo before halftime, and late strikes from Samuel Ayanrinde and Nenrot Silas.
