In late July, Turkish pop veteran Hakan Peker announced his new single “Sen Yoluna Git” and a free concert to be held on 7 August in Karabük’s Millet Bahçesi, co-headlining with the contemporary act Sefo. The event was organized by the Karabük municipality as part of Karabüklüler Day. The concert took place on 7 August, drawing about 30,000 residents and visitors. Peker performed a mix of nostalgic hits while Sefo delivered his recent tracks. A brief disturbance erupted among the crowd but was quickly contained by police. Mayor Özkan Çetinkaya used the occasion to declare that 7 August will be celebrated annually as Karabüklüler Day, highlighting the city’s role as a national gathering point.
