The global girl group KATSEYE, a collaboration between HYBE and Geffen Records, has faced scrutiny regarding management and the status of its members during THE WILDWORLD TOUR. Member Manon Bannerman has been on hiatus since February 2026 for personal health and well-being, while member Sophia stepped back from the tour in August 2026 to prioritize her mental health. Controversy emerged following reports of a message from Bannerman on Weverse that appeared to contradict official statements from HYBE x Geffen regarding her health status. In response to circulating rumors that Manon and Sophia would not return to the group, members Lara, Daniela, Megan, and Yoonchae addressed the situation in an interview with the Swedish program Lilla Aktuellt. Lara stated, “None of those rumors are true,” though the members noted it was not their place to provide specific details regarding a return timeline. ~~Fan reactions remain divided between those seeking reassurance~~ In October 2026, HYBE and ~~those viewing~~ Geffen announced that Sophia Laforteza will resume group activities in the ~~response as evasive.~~ first week of January 2027. She will not participate in the remainder of the ‘WILDWORLD Tour’ in North America or any other promotional activities for the rest of 2026. While a timeline was provided for Sophia, the announcement drew criticism from fans regarding the continued lack of official information concerning Manon Bannerman, who remains on hiatus.
