Kauno Žalgiris achieved a domestic double in Lithuania under Croatian coach Željko Sopić. The club first won the Lithuanian Cup on October 11 after a 3:0 victory against Minija, a tournament in which the team did not concede any goals. Following this, the team secured the league championship on October 31 after a 4:1 away win against Hegelmann. This victory brought the club to 58 points, establishing a seven point lead over second-placed Žalgiris Vilnius. Key contributors to these successes included players Leon Kreković, Gabriel Debeljuh, and Ivan Fiolić. In addition to the league and cup titles, the club has also secured the Super Cup. Following their TOPLYGA championship win, the team is preparing for upcoming UEFA Conference League fixtures against Lugano, Riga, Egnatia, and Freiburg. Coach Sopičius noted the difficulty of balancing domestic competition with European tournaments, citing a demanding schedule of approximately 20 matches within an 80-day period.
