Kenia López Rabadán, representing the PAN party, concluded her term as President of the Board of Directors of Mexico’s Chamber of Deputies. In her legislative report delivered at the Palacio Legislativo de San Lázaro, she emphasized a management style guided by “truth, respect for state institutions, gender parity, and political plurality.” López Rabadán noted that her administration oversaw 100 sessions and 150 parliamentary reports, aiming to maintain the Chamber as a space for debate despite high political polarization. She highlighted a historic milestone in gender parity, noting that the Chamber includes 253 women for the first time. Her leadership was recognized by various political figures, including members of the PAN and Morena coordinator Ricardo Monreal, for prioritizing institutionalism and national interests over ideological differences. Reflecting on her tenure, López Rabadán stated that her leadership aimed to demonstrate that it is possible to preside over a plural body using institutional criteria. She noted that while she will return to her full role as a federal deputy and express partisan positions, she will continue to respect differing political views to avoid “harmful polarization.” Following the established rotation scheme among political forces, the presidency of the Chamber is expected to pass to the Ecologist Green Party of Mexico (PVEM). Raúl Bolaños Cacho, the current Vice President of the Chamber, has been identified as a potential successor for the third year of the current legislature.
