Southampton moved toward finalizing a permanent transfer for center-back Keven Schlotterbeck from Bundesliga club FC Augsburg. The deal was reportedly valued at approximately €4.5m (£3.85m) as the club sought to bolster its defensive options. FC Augsburg subsequently confirmed the departure of the 29-year-old Schlotterbeck, noting he signed a three-year deal with the English Championship side for a reported fixed transfer fee of 3.85 million euros. Schlotterbeck, who served as captain for Augsburg, stated the move is an “exciting challenge to gain experience abroad.” To replace defensive and roster assets, Augsburg announced the signing of South Korean international Youngwoo Seol from Red Star Belgrade for approximately 3.75 million euros. Seol, a 27-year-old winger, has signed a contract through June 30, 2030, in a deal that reportedly includes bonuses and a sell-on clause.
