The Netherlands and Sint Maarten have begun discussions regarding enhanced cooperation in digital transformation, cybersecurity, and public-sector modernization. These talks, involving Sint Maarten’s Minister Plenipotentiary and the Dutch Minister for the Digital Economy and Sovereignty, focused on digital identity, government system alignment, and increasing digital resilience. Building on these efforts of intergovernmental dialogue, an inaugural Kingdom Summit has been scheduled for November 17 and 18, 2026, in Sint Maarten. The summit will include the governments of Aruba, Curaçao, Sint Maarten, and the Netherlands. During This high-level administrative meeting aims to strengthen cooperation and deepen ties between the event, prime ministers four autonomous countries within the Kingdom. As part of the summit, each nation will deliver present a ‘State of the Nation’ addresses to discuss national successes, challenges, report. During these presentations, prime ministers will outline their respective countries' successes and opportunities challenges while identifying specific policy areas for closer collaboration enhanced collaboration. The summit is intended to foster cohesion within the Kingdom. greater continuity and coherence in periodic intergovernmental consultations, focusing on building a future-ready Kingdom through mutual respect and shared support.
