Kioxia has experienced significant stock price volatility amid broader semiconductor market concerns, including technological advancements by Chinese competitors in next-generation DRAM and uncertainties regarding AI-driven demand trends. Shares recently fell by approximately 5.1 to 5.2 percent, trading at around 87 to 93 euros, which is significantly below its 52-week high of 207 euros. Despite these market pressures, S&P Global Ratings upgraded Kioxia Holdings' long-term issuer credit rating to ‘BBB’ with a ‘positive’ outlook. The company has also expanded its enterprise SSD lineup, introducing CM9 series models designed for direct liquid cooling and the LD4 series of QLC SSDs targeting hyperscale data centers with capacities reaching up to 122.88 terabytes. Further downward pressure has emerged due to an accumulation of leveraged long positions. As of October 15, outstanding margin buying in the stock totaled approximately 920 billion yen (US$5.8 billion), the largest such balance among all companies listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange. Analysts warn that if retail investors are forced to liquidate positions as margin deadlines approach, it could trigger a deeper price decline. Trading turnover has already dropped 84 percent from its peak to 766 billion yen. Kioxia, a major manufacturer of NAND flash memory used in AI servers, has seen its share price fall 63 percent from a record high set in June.
