Klay Thompson and Megan Thee Stallion breakup

Overview

Following their highly publicized split in April, NBA player Klay Thompson and rapper Megan Thee Stallion have both addressed the aftermath of their relationship. Thompson has largely maintained privacy regarding the breakup, though Tristan Thompson previously advised him to ‘keep your mouth quiet’ to avoid speculation.

In various interviews, including a cover story with Marie Claire, Megan Thee Stallion described the emotional toll of the split, stating she felt like she had been “put through the washing machine and the dryer with tins, shovels, and a cactus.” She noted the relationship left her feeling “constantly on edge” and in a state of “panic 24/7,” admitting she had ignored her intuition. Megan indicated the breakup involved allegations of infidelity and a lack of respect, emphasizing her need for independence: “I cannot be minimized. I will not be behind any man.”

Recent reflections on the breakup highlight the physical impact on the artist. Megan noted that the emotional pressure led to health issues, including dehydration and loss of appetite, which forced her to temporarily pause her “Moulin Rouge!” performances. She stated, “I’m not pretending I’m 100 percent okay,” and emphasized that she is prioritizing her peace and healing over new romantic connections.

Professionally, Megan is focusing on her career, specifically her upcoming album, “ACT III,” and teasing new music such as the track “TINA TUESDAY FREESTYLE.” She is also scheduled to perform at the 2026 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in Los Angeles on October 18, joining a lineup that includes KATSEYE, Megan Moroney, and Tate McRae. Additionally, Megan has entered a new distribution partnership with Interscope Records for her company, Hot Girl Productions, which allows her to retain ownership of her masters.
