KO1KEYZ, a 12-member global boy group formed via the ‘PRODUCE 101 JAPAN Shinsekai’ audition program, prepared for their official debut in early October. During the lead-up, members appeared on music variety programs and participated in interviews to discuss their transition from ballad singing to the concept of their debut track. On October 7, the group officially debuted in Japan and South Korea with the single ‘KO1KEYZ’. The release reached number one on the Oricon Daily Single Ranking for October 6. The group, which includes ten Japanese members and two Korean members, celebrated the launch with a live stream and began a fan meeting tour in cities including Tokyo, Hyogo, and Seoul. Following the launch, the debut single achieved significant commercial success. On the Billboard Japan weekly singles sales chart, the single recorded 525,248 copies in its first week, surpassing the debut sales of the group INI. On the Oricon weekly singles ranking, the group debuted at number one with 460,000 copies sold, marking the highest first-week sales for a debut single this fiscal year. This achievement represents the first time a debut single has exceeded 300,000 copies in two years and five months. In South Korea, the single album ‘KO1KEYZ’ (KR) reached 89,337 sales on the global Hanteo Chart within its first five days of release, with most sales attributed to Japanese fans.
