The manufacturer Škoda is marking significant production and longevity milestones for its key vehicle models. In late August 2026, the Škoda Octavia celebrated 30 years of modern production, having reached a milestone of nearly 7.9 million units across four generations. The model is credited with helping transition the brand from a budget manufacturer to an established European player following its entry into the Volkswagen Group. In September 2026, the company also marked the 25th anniversary of its flagship Superb model, which debuted in at the Frankfurt Motor Show on September 11, 2001. The Superb has reached approximately 1.8 million units in production and serves as a cornerstone for the brand, particularly within the corporate fleet sector. In the Czech market, the Superb holds a 68 percent share of the upper mid-size segment. Recent developments for the model include the introduction of plug-in hybrid powertrains and the relocation of production for the fourth generation to Bratislava. Newer data highlights Turkey as a critical market for the Superb, where sales have approached 100,000 units since 2002. Turkey currently serves as the world’s largest market for the Superb sedan variant. Škoda Auto CEO Klaus Zellmer noted the market’s significance, stating that “half of the Superb sedan production is sent to Turkey.” While the Superb nameplate has historical roots dating back to 1934, the modern era of the model began with its 2001 revival.
