Škoda Auto is celebrating the 30th anniversary of the modern Octavia model, which entered series production on September 3, 1996. Global production has reached nearly 8 million units across four generations. The Octavia nameplate was revived in 1992, following an original production run between 1959 and 1971. During the model's initial development phase, manufacturing capacity in Mladá Boleslav expanded from 90,000 to 350,000 vehicles annually. Production of the current fourth generation continues at facilities in Mladá Boleslav and Kvasiny in the Czech Republic, as well as in Kostanay, Kazakhstan. Recent developments for the fourth generation include a focus on digital technology, safety features, and expanded cargo space. In specific markets such as Taiwan, the Octavia Combi (station wagon) has seen significant popularity, accounting for approximately 88% of registrations for the model as of August 2026. Additionally, performance-oriented RS models have represented about 40% of Octavia sales in Taiwan over the last three years.
