Konami announced the remake of the 2008 PSP title Yu-Gi-Oh! GX Tag Force 3, titled Yu-Gi-Oh! TAG FORCE GX. The game is scheduled for release on February 16, 2027, for PC via Steam, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2. The remake features modernized 3D graphics, an expanded card pool of over 3,800 cards, and improved Duel and Team Duel modes. It includes new mini-games and a gallery mode to revisit scenes from the original Tag Force 1 and 2 titles. This release will mark the first time the content is officially available in North and Latin America. Pre-order details include physical editions for Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 containing specific Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game cards, such as Yubel (Starlight Rare), Wicked Canon (Ultra Rare), and Hope for the Future (Ultra Rare). Digital pre-orders on the eShop include items for Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel, while Steam purchasers will receive digital wallpapers, profile icons, and an e-book. In September 2026, Konami revealed further details regarding the game’s development. Showcased at At TGS2026, Director Yuji Matsumura and Producer Shinnosuke Kida stated that the goal is to remain faithful to the original experience rather than pursuing a complete modernization of mechanics. To support this, the card pool will include approximately 200 additional cards not found in the original TAG FORCE 3, such as Synchro monsters and cards designed to support existing GX-era archetypes. Gameplay focuses on Tag Duels where teammates share Life Points, the field, and the Graveyard. Beyond card battles, the game features school life and relationship building at Duel Academy. A TGS2026 demo allowed players to explore the academy via a top-down map and select partners, including Jaden Yuki. Developers noted that the community’s community reaction to this remake will be a decisive factor in whether Konami pursues more retro-style games or further Tag Force titles in the future.
