In Zubin Potok, Kosovo authorities and the Special Prosecution Office have discovered human remains at a third location as part of an ongoing investigation into war crimes from the 1998–1999 conflict. The excavations are intended to identify victims, including potentially 23 Albanian civilians abducted from Mitrovica in 1999. Three individuals have been arrested in connection with the case, including one suspected of being an active member of the Yugoslav army. Following these investigations, Nenad Rašković was hospitalized in Kosovska Mitrovica after an alleged assault by Kosovo police in the village of Dren, Zubin Potok. Rašković claims that three officers entered his home, searched the premises, and subsequently took assaulted him to on his bed, and demanded he hand over a forest where rifle. He further alleges that he was handcuffed, taken to a nearby forest, tied to a tree tree, and beaten with a water hose. He further alleged Medical professionals report that officers attempted Rašković sustained injuries to force his head, back, and chest, and is currently in intensive care in stable condition. The Kosovo Police Inspectorate (PIK) has launched a confession priority investigation into the matter, collecting medical documentation and statements. While the Kosovo police stated they have no information regarding war crimes. The the alleged assault, the Srpska Lista has condemned the incident as ‘institutional terror’ and called for independent investigations by international bodies such as KFOR and EULEX.
