In late September 2026, investigators conducted searches at several residential locations in the Madiun region, including the home of Maidi, a family member, and a sub-district head. KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo noted that these raids utilized a ‘follow the money’ approach to track assets potentially derived from criminal activities. By early October 2026, the investigation moved into government facilities, with raids conducted at the Madiun City Trade Office and the Regional Financial and Asset Management Agency (BKAD). Investigators seized documents and electronic evidence to identify further suspects. This probe follows a previous sting operation that resulted in the naming of three suspects: Maidi, Rochim Ruhdiyanto, and Thariq Megah, the Head of the PUPR Office. The allegations involve extortion and gratification related to road maintenance projects, though Maidi has denied all charges. Recent investigative actions have extended to the City Health Office (Dinkes PPKB) and the regional water utility, Perumda Air Minum Tirta Taman Sari. Investigators also searched the residence of Harum Kusumawati, the Head of the Trade Office, seizing cash, documents, and electronic evidence. While Maidi has previously faced sentencing demands of 7 years and 2 months in prison for his primary corruption case, the KPK is currently using a separate investigation order to trace suspected money laundering.
