KYMCO is expanding its vehicle lineup through new design patents and upcoming exhibition showcases. In July 2026, patent documents granted by the China National Intellectual Property Administration revealed that KYMCO subsidiary Changzhou Guangyang Motorcycle Co. Ltd. registered a new compact three-wheeled urban scooter. This design focuses on practicality for city environments, featuring a flat floor for easier mounting, additional storage, a two-height seat, and a streamlined body. Technical details include a single-cylinder tilting engine and a simplified front axle architecture with independent suspension on each front wheel. By October 2026, KYMCO announced plans to showcase new concepts at the EICMA 2026 motorcycle show in Milan. A primary highlight is the CV-X45, a 427 cc crossover scooter with a raid-style adventure orientation developed by the company’s European Design Center in Bologna. This model features a single-cylinder engine optimized for low and mid-range torque, a long-travel inverted fork, and a central engine position for weight distribution. Further details regarding the CV-X45 indicate it is expected to be the production version of the CV-R5 concept shown in late 2024, designed to compete in the adventure-scooter market against models like the Honda X-ADV. Built for the A2 license category, the 427cc water-cooled single-cylinder engine is expected to produce 34 PS and 40 Nm of torque. Unlike many scooters, it utilizes a traditional motorcycle-style engine mounting and a chain final drive to improve mass distribution. Technical specifications include a 15-inch front wheel with upside-down forks and dual disc brakes, a 14-inch rear wheel, ABS, a digital cockpit, and cruise control. Industry experts anticipate an initial rollout in Italy and Spain before expanding to other European markets like Germany.
