Neighbors in Kyoto’s Nishikyo ward began filing complaints in 2019 about a 61‑year‑old resident’s incessant electric‑guitar playing and blaring radio, which they said produced volumes over 80 dB and caused insomnia, depression and tinnitus. Authorities issued repeated warnings, but the noise persisted. In On 23 July 2026 police seized more than 40 guitars and related equipment from the suspect’s apartment and arrested him on suspicion of bodily injury caused by the disturbance. The man, identified as Kazunori Yokoi, denied charging him with bodily injury. Officers seized 76 items from his apartment, including more than 40 guitars, amplifiers and other audio gear. Yokoi acknowledged creating the allegations, while victims disturbance but denied that it caused any injuries; he now faces court proceedings. Victims expressed relief after his detention.
