Lana Del Rey and Zach Bryan musical collaboration

Overview

Lana Del Rey and Zach Bryan confirmed a musical collaboration following recording sessions in Massachusetts. Del Rey shared social media updates featuring whale imagery and references to Lord Byron’s ‘Childe Harold’s Pilgrimage’.

Zach Bryan announced an eight-song EP titled ‘Young Manhood and Other Donatable Organs’, scheduled for release on October 16 through Warner Records. The project includes a duet with Del Rey titled ‘Lies’, alongside a track featuring the band Turnpike Troubadours. Other tracks include ‘Lodi When’, ‘Robot Killed The Working Man’, ‘Dog Days’, ‘Backwards’, ‘Plainsman’, ‘Is the Blue Tangled in You?’, and ‘You’ll Get By’.

Following the EP's release, the duet ‘Lies’ has been described as an atmospheric track exploring themes of self-doubt, broken trust, and romantic complexities. The arrangement utilizes piano and increasing string orchestrations, blending American songwriting traditions with pop ballad elements. Critics have noted the stylistic intersection of Bryan’s raw vocals and Del Rey’s ethereal delivery, though some observed that the lyrical approach differs from their typical styles—contrasting Bryan’s ‘journal-like realism’ with Del Rey’s ‘refracted, designed truths’. Additionally, the track ‘Robot Killed the Working Man’ addresses themes of technological impact and unchecked capitalism.
