Wikipedia co-founder Larry Sanger has alleged that the platform's integrity is compromised, claiming that intelligence agencies, including the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) ~~has~~ and Mossad, have edited its content. In interviews, including one with the Berliner Zeitung, Sanger ~~stated~~ stated, “What we know for certain, based on all kinds of evidence, is that the CIA has already edited Wikipedia.” He suggested that the platform's anonymity ~~has allowed powerful entities, governments, and well-resourced organizations~~ allows these entities to use it pseudonyms as a ~~tool for propaganda. He expressed concern that pseudonymous editing serves~~ “mask” to influence content in favor of specific geopolitical interests, such as ~~a mask for those attempting~~ Zionism or U.S. wars. Sanger further alleged that various corporations and well-resourced organizations work to ~~manipulate information.~~ modify content on behalf of wealthy individuals and governments. Sanger ~~also~~ highlighted the increasing significance of these concerns due to Wikipedia's role in training search engines and artificial intelligence systems.
