Animal welfare and rabies vaccination initiatives continue to expand across Latin American regions to promote public health and responsible pet ownership. In Mexico, vaccination efforts have intensified. While Veracruz remains active, Hidalgo is coordinating with 84 municipalities to immunize over 200,000 dogs and cats to maintain the country’s rabies-free status. In Atlixco, authorities are administering 20,000 rabies doses, and sterilization campaigns have been launched in Juárez. Argentina has seen further developments in municipal services. Beyond the existing activities in Rawson, Armstrong, and Mar del Plata, municipalities such as Río Grande are providing free rabies vaccinations, neutering services, and pet adoption programs. In Catamarca, researchers are working on ethno-conservation and coexistence strategies for wild mammals. Recent efforts in Armstrong have included mass sterilization and vaccination drives, while Mar del Plata has deployed mobile surgical units. In Brazil, Campo Grande has expanded its rabies vaccination rounds to include door-to-door visits and fixed points, while local organizations host adoption events. In Marília, authorities are conducting rabies vaccination drives alongside dengue combat mobilizations. Other cities, such as Patrocínio, are organizing vaccination drives, and Votuporanga is hosting the ‘Cãominhada Solidária’ to promote adoption and responsible ownership. In Venezuela, animal rights advocates in Maturín continue to mobilize in support of a new Comprehensive Animal Protection Law. Additionally, community efforts in Antofagasta, Chile, are focused on raising food supplies for rescued animals.
