Evangelical and Christian communities across several Latin American nations held various celebrations to commemorate Bible Day and the anniversary of the Bible’s translation into Spanish. In the Dominican Republic, President Luis Abinader joined a national concentration at the Juan Pablo Duarte Olympic Center to observe the holiday established by Law 204-84. Honduras also marked the occasion with religious processions and parades in various cities, including Tegucigalpa. In the capital, participants used floats and banners to promote biblical messages. Local religious leaders emphasized the Bible’s importance in providing spiritual guidance to families and reducing social violence. In Nicaragua, celebrations marked the 457th anniversary of the Spanish translation of the Bible. While national services were organized in Managua, denominations in the North Caribbean Coast held specific commemorations. In Bilwi, participants held a procession from the Miskito Central Moravian Church to Rubén Darío Municipal Park for a service of prayer and reflection. Bishop Gustavo Zabala of the Church of God emphasized the importance of delivering biblical messages to diverse communities, while Puerto Cabezas Mayor Miguel Abella noted how translations into various languages facilitate community access. These celebrations also highlighted the availability of Scriptures in the Miskitu language, with activities extending to Waspam.
