Regional gastronomic and cultural festivals across Latin America are being utilized to stimulate economic growth, support local entrepreneurship, and fund charitable initiatives. In Argentina, the ‘Día del Pinot’ festival in Villa La Angostura generated over 24.3 million pesos, driven largely by tourists from domestic and international locations. Similarly, in Mexico, the ‘Foodie Black Week Puebla 2026’ was launched to position the state as a culinary capital, with projected economic impacts reaching up to 40 million pesos. Other regional events focus on community development and specialized sectors. In Bolivia, the ‘Itadakimas’ Japanese Gastronomic and Cultural Festival Festival, held at Expocruz and organized by the Fundación Nacional Vida Segura with support from the Consulate of Japan, featured various over twenty businesses to raise funds for health, education, sports, and sports culture programs for vulnerable sectors. In Chile, the ‘Vivo la repostería Chillán’ event utilized a public-private partnership between the municipality’s Didepro and the company Dispack to support approximately 30 pastry and craft entrepreneurs through exhibitions and masterclasses. Additionally, the 14th edition of the San Fernando Customary Festival in Copiapó, Chile, concluded with over 100 food stalls and bazaars providing a platform for local entrepreneurs. In Guatemala, preparations are underway for the 11th Pinol Festival in San Raymundo, scheduled for September 4–6. The event will feature traditional marimba music, parades, and the presentation of the ‘Sanraymundense de Oro’ award to honor a distinguished community member while showcasing local cooks and artisans.
