Regional governments across Latin America are implementing various infrastructure, healthcare, and economic development projects. In the Dominican Republic, authorities inaugurated a renovated Maternal and Child Hospital in San José de las Matas, providing new medical equipment and ambulances to improve local healthcare. In Chile, initiatives include community projects in Tarapacá, a roadmap for a cancer macro-center in Valparaíso, and sanitation projects in La Araucanía. Regional leaders in Coquimbo and Los Lagos have also sought budgetary support for post-flood reconstruction. Further development efforts have been reported in Uruguay, where the Salto local government is prioritizing rural and urban infrastructure repairs to support local producers. Recent developments in Chile show an expansion of economic and security measures. In the Tarapacá region, SERCOTEC reported a 2026 management investment of $566.8 million aimed at supporting micro, small, and medium enterprises (mipymes) through the Regional Productive Development Committee (CDPR), managing resources totaling $3,082 million for 1,470 beneficiaries. Sercotec Tarapacá has reported an 80.8% execution rate of its annual investment.
